Microneedling Tucson

About Microneedling

We use the Bellus Medical SkinPen to carry out our microneedling treatments. This is the first microneedling device worldwide to be cleared by the FDA, meaning it is clinically safe for scar treatment.

The SkinPen will create controlled micro-injuries, which stimulate the natural healing process in the body, resulting in the production of elastin and collagen.

Microneedling at our state-the-art clinic can also involve the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is a substance that will promote healing. This is a component that is already in our blood.

When it is removed and concentrated, it contains special proteins that will support the growth of cells and aid damaged tissues.

At Dermatology & Plastic Surgery of Arizona, we will use a SkinPen for this collagen induction therapy, which encourages collagen cells to rejuvenate and grow.

Is There Any Downtime?

One of the great things about this treatment is that the downtime is minimal, and usually only social. There is a very short inflammatory impact, which means you should start to recover very quickly. In fact, a lot of people return to work the following day!

Within between 12 and 24 hours, you should start to notice that the redness in your skin fades and the swelling will go down as well. It is normal to experience some degree of sensitivity for the first 48 hours after your treatment.

Once you have had your treatment, our team will make sure that you are fully aware of the aftercare procedure that is in place. After all, you do not want to do anything that will upset or aggravate the skin.
