Volume loss to the face is a telltale sign of aging, particularly around the eyes, cheeks, and jawline. There are several ways to restore youthfulness to the face including a facelift, dermal fillers, and a fat transfer. A fat transfer to the face can increase volume, fill voids, and plump wrinkles. During a fat injection procedure, fat cells are harvested from the patient using liposuction (from an area where there is extra fat such as the abdomen or thighs) and injected into the face. It can be a great way to rejuvenate areas of the face that have become hollowed over time and restore the round shape associated with youth.

A fat transfer is a great procedure for those with moderate to severe volume loss or wrinkles. Because the fat is harvested from your own body, the risk of an allergic reaction is extremely low. A fat transfer is minimally-invasive and offers long-lasting and natural results.

Fat transfers, when compared to dermal fillers, can be more time consuming. They also may cost more and have longer recovery times, since they combine two procedures into one. However, they last longer than dermal fillers and the fat cells that are not absorbed back into the body will integrate into the face and produce a long-term augmentation. A fat transfer does not prevent future effects of aging.
