Q: Tell us a little bit about your educational background.

Dr. Moenster: “I went to medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri.

And then I completed my general surgery and my plastic surgery fellowship at South Point Hospital in Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

After I completed my fellowship, I moved to Tucson, Arizona.”

Q: Where do you currently practice?

Dr. Moenster: “I practice here (Tucson, AZ) with my husband whom I met in medical school at Dermatology and Plastic Surgery of Arizona.

We have offices in Tucson and Sierra Vista. As well as a surgery center, Coronado Surgery Center in Sierra Vista.

Coming soon to Tucson, we will also have a surgery center here!”

Q: What types of procedures do you offer?

Dr. Moenster: “I practice primarily cosmetic plastic surgery, but I also do some insurance-based plastic surgery with breast reconstruction and skin reconstruction for cancer.

On the plastic surgery side, I treat the face, body, and breast.

I do facelifts, mini facelifts, laser treatments, and radio frequency microneedling.

For breast surgery, I do lifts, reductions, implants, implant removal, and fat transfer to the breast.

And then for body liposuction, Renuvion, which is a radio frequency skin tightener, tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, I even do calf liposuction.

These are some of the fun things that I really enjoy doing.”

Q: Why plastic surgery?

Dr. Moenster: “I like giving a patient the confidence to feel good about their body, and to feel good in their skin. It’s one of my favorite parts of my job.

I became a plastic surgeon because I think it’s a really fun profession that has a lot of variety and a lot of variability. I can work head to toe. I can work on very young people, I can work on older people, I can work on males, females, or any gender.

There are not a lot of limitations, which keeps it interesting and exciting with all the variety.”

Q: Tell us a little bit about you!

Dr. Moenster: “I live here in Tucson, Arizona, but I’m originally from Missouri.

I have three cats at home and so they keep me busy.

I am in practice with my husband. We actually work together five days a week. We share an office where we sit right next to each other all day when we’re not seeing patients. I know it’s not for everybody, but it really works nice for us.

We’re both interested in fitness and wellness. We like going to CrossFit. Sometimes I do some Orange Theory.

We also like to hike. Not too long ago, we did a rim-to-rim Grand Canyon hike and enjoyed the beauty here in Arizona.”

Q: One tip or piece of advice you have for patients who are interested in having plastic surgery?

Dr. Moenster: “In addition to having a plastic surgery procedure done, you need to live a healthy lifestyle. You have to maintain your weight and your emotional and mental health.

We also want you to stay fit so that you can continue to enjoy things for a long time.

One of the great things about plastic surgery is, that I can make someone feel better in their own skin, making them less insecure and giving them more confidence. Even if it’s something that somebody else can’t physically see. Making those little changes makes it gratifying for me and is a beautiful thing to help a patient feel better about themselves.”
