Risks, Recovery, and Results
Unlike certain laser treatments, Profound RF microneedling is not dependent on pigment for effective results, which makes it safe for patients of all skin tones and Fitzpatrick scale levels. Since Profound checks the temperature 10 times a second, the risk of thermal injury is greatly reduced.
When compared with the recovery time of a facelift or neck lift, Profound RF microneedling is much shorter, typically 5-7 days and mainly in the form of social downtime. Patients may have redness, swelling, bruising, minor skin flaking or peeling, and some mild discomfort during that time, but these will resolve with more healing time.
A few lucky patients have seen Profound RF microneedling results in as little as 2 weeks, but the far more common timeline is 12 weeks after your procedure. As collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production ramps up, your results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months. Some patients opt to undergo a second treatment at this time, and results can last up to 3-5 years.
Many patients who’ve had Profound RF treatment for cellulite are satisfied with the results after a single treatment, with peak improvement around the 3-6 month mark. Sometimes, a second treatment after 6 months further improves the final outcome.
Profound RF microneedling doesn’t only aim to improve skin laxity and vitality through cellular repair and renewal. Profound RF seeks to rebuild the skin from the inside out by invigorating collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid processes, the building blocks of a healthy, beautiful complexion for the long-term.
