MINI FACELIFT

Most people feel a definite call to action when they see their first gray hair or their first fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. Perhaps they even suddenly begin seeing skin that is less glowing and losing elasticity. We are happy to let you know that we offer a mini facelift that is perfect for those early signs of aging!

What Is A Mini Facelift?

A mini facelift is a minor procedure that reduces minor sagging around the lower cheeks, jawline, and neck. It is less extensive than a traditional facelift in that it is done with typically smaller incisions and does not affect the forehead, upper cheeks or eyes.

How Does A Mini Facelift Work?

A mini facelift works by using 2 small incisions around the ears through which to remove excess skin and tightening of the muscles from the lower cheeks, jawline, and neck. The muscles are reshaped and excess skin is removed giving the patient a more sleek jawline, a firmer appearance to the neck, and a pleasing look to the corner of the mouth. The mini facelift does not affect the eyes or forehead but gives an overall younger and fresher look to the lower face.

Am I A Good Candidate?

If you are a male or female in your 30s to 50s and are beginning to experience signs of aging, the mini facelift is geared towards you. The best candidates are non-smokers who are in generally good health and have reasonable expectations for the procedure’s outcome.

How Long Does A Typical Treatment Take?

The mini facelift is typically done as an outpatient treatment. It lasts anywhere from 90-120 minutes and is performed with local with or without sedation. In fact, patients can opt to use a new anesthesia option called Pronox, which is a patient-controlled inhaled analgesia that takes effect in seconds and immediately relieves anxiety and discomfort. Excess skin is removed after the facial muscles are tightened and patients receive sutures to close the incisions.

What Results Will I See?

Impressively, the results of the mini facelift are immediate. Following the procedure, you will notice the improvements in your lower cheeks, jawline, and neck right away. While you may have some swelling or slight bruising, this will subside within the first several days and will give way to a fresher, younger appearance. The mini facelift will last 5 to 7 years, but your face will also continue to be affected by aging, environmental factors, and gravity.

Is There Any Downtime?

When the mini facelift is completed, patients will have bandages and a compressive wrap to wear on the surgical site for 7 days. There may be minor swelling and bruising that will subside within several days, and sutures will be removed one week after the procedure. Patients typically return to work after a week once the swelling has subsided and the sutures have been removed. Following the procedure, patients are asked to avoid strenuous activity for 3 weeks, but typical daily activities are generally permitted right away.
