VASERlipo
VASERlipo is a precision body sculptor that uses ultrasound energy to remove areas of fat through a small cannula. VASERlipo is similar to liposuction with the added benefit of using a more efficient machine. VASERlipo can also be more selective, disrupting fat cells but not blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue, and as a result, less traumatic. Many patients see less swelling, less bruising and less patient discomfort. VASERlipo can also be used to do liposculpture, contouring the body to highlight the natural musculature of the abdomen, arms and thighs.
Candidates
VASERlipo Candidates Include:
- Individuals who have not seen results with diet and exercise
- Individuals with extra fat to lose who are close to their ideal weight
- Individuals with realistic goals
- Non-smokers who are in relatively good health
Length of Surgery
VASERlipo procedure typically takes an hour or more.
Recovery, Risks and Results
VASERlipo Risks May Include:
- Bruising and swelling
- Change in skin sensation that may persist
- Damage to deeper structures
- Irregular contours or need for revision surgery
- Rippling or loose skin
During recovery, patients wear special compression garments to help skin contract smoothly to the body’s new contours. Three to four weeks of general recovery when strenuous activities should be avoided.
Results from VASERlipo are immediately noticeable and will continue to improve as the body heals. Final results are typically seen in about three to four months. Though you may lose some firmness with age, most of your improvement should be relatively permanent.
