A chemical peel uses an acidic chemical solution to smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers with exfoliation of the upper layers of the deeper skin and encouraging skin renewal to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, acne, and uneven texture.
A chemical peel can treat hyperpigmentation to help achieve a more even skin tone. Chemical peels may be superficial, medium, or deep in-depth of treatment. A superficial peel can improve mild skin discoloration or blotchiness. A medium peel reaches deeper levels of the epidermis, correcting age spots, freckles and moderate discoloration. A deep peel addresses more significant discoloration issues. Prior to and after a chemical peel for hyperpigmentation, the skin will be treated with medical grade skin care to pre-lighten, decrease pigment production, and maintain the results.
